Nearly 200 academic presentations! The 12th National Conference on the Physics of Soft Matter and Living Matter held in Wenzhou
Time:2022-11-01Soft matter and living matter is one of the important intersection fields in the new era, which is the bridge from physical science to life science. the 12th National Conference on Soft Matter and Living Matter Physics was held in Wenzhou Research Institute of National Science and Technology on Oct. 29. In this conference, eight presentation venues were online at the same time, exchanging and sharing contents around biophysics and medical physics, soft matter system structure and phase transition, soft matter system dynamics, theoretical foundation and experimental methods, and other intersectional field topics.
Fangfu Ye, Vice President of Wenzhou Research Institute of National Science and Technology, spoke at the opening ceremony of the conference
"The National Conference on Soft Matter and Life Matter Physics is one of the highest level academic conferences in the field of soft matter and life matter physics and biology in China, and has been held for eleven consecutive years. This year, the conference is co-organized by Chinese Physical Society, Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Wenzhou Research Institute of National Science and Technology, and is held in an "online + offline" way, aiming to provide a communication platform for researchers in the field, to promote the field of "soft matter and living matter" to a deeper and more The conference aims to provide a communication platform for researchers in the field, promote the field of "soft matter and living matter" to deepen and extend farther, consolidate the basic research of life science, and crack the key problems of life science.
Speech by Prof. Ouyang Zhongcan, Chairman of the National Soft Matter Conference
"In 2014, the National Soft Matter Conference was held in Wenzhou, and it is of special significance that the conference returns to Wenzhou after eight years." At the opening ceremony, the chairman of the conference, Prof. Ouyang Zhongcan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered an online speech, in which he was pleased with the scientific research atmosphere and the strength of Wenzhou in the field of soft matter in recent years, and expressed his affirmation and expectations for the achievements made by the Wenzhou Research Institute of National Science since its establishment. He expressed his hope that all the participating experts and young scientists could speak freely, keep colliding with new sparks, share achievements and promote development together. He also looked forward to more linkages with Wenzhou in the future and more scientific innovation activities hand in hand.
Prof. Masao Doi, a foreign member of the American Academy of Engineering, gave a keynote speech
Prof. Masao Doi, a foreign member of the American Academy of Engineering, and Prof. Wang Jin, a member of the European Academy of Sciences, were invited to give a keynote speech on "Physics of Drying", which was based on the "coffee ring effect" of coffee droplets forming a stain circle. Prof. Wang Jin presented "Quantifying the Cancer Landscape to Explore its Physical Mechanisms", looking at cancer disease from a physical perspective. The two academicians also gave detailed answers to the questions asked online and on the spot.
