Quantum 2022 International Conference officially opens today

On the morning of October 22nd, the Quantum 2022 International Conference (Quantum 2022) was officially opened. Over 500 experts and scholars in related disciplines from around the world gathered in the cloud to discuss the latest advances and frontier directions in quantum science and technology. This conference is a key event of the World Summit of Young Scientists 2022, which is co-organized by the British Physical Society Press and the World Summit of Young Scientists, together with the Chinese Physical Society and the University of Science and Technology of China.

 Dai Li, Second Inspector of Zhejiang Provincial Science Association, Xu Haiyan, Deputy Secretary General of Wenzhou Municipal Government, Tom Grinyer, Chief Executive Officer (President) of the British Physical Society, and Zhao Zhengguo, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice President of the Chinese Physical Society, and Professor of the University of Science and Technology of China, delivered speeches via video link on behalf of each organizing unit. Tim Smith, publisher of the British Physical Society, also welcomed and thanked all the experts and scholars for their participation in the opening speech session. The opening session of the conference was chaired by Prof. Lu Chaoyang of USTC.

It is worth mentioning that on the eve of the conference, Professor Lu Chaoyang from the University of Science and Technology of China, Professor Steven Girvin from Yale University and member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States and many other guests from home and abroad sent a message, hoping that young scientists from all over the world can share their cutting-edge achievements, exchange ideas, discuss academics and improve communication at this conference, and provide inspiring innovations and solutions for building a better world. The conference will be held in Beijing, China.


In the following program, 28 top scholars from home and abroad, including Pan Jianwei, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Steven Girvin, member of the National Academy of Sciences and professor of Yale University, Birgitta Whaley, member of the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Sciences and member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Mete Atatüre, member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences and professor of Cambridge University, UK, gave 3 conference presentations and 25 invited presentations to discuss the latest advances in quantum technology in industrial and commercial fields around the world, as well as the future potential and direction of the field.


In addition, a special issue of "Recent Progress in Quantum Computation and Quantum Simulation" focusing on the "2022 International Conference on Quantum The special issue of "Recent Progress in Quantum Computation and Quantum Simulation" will also be published in Quantum Science and Technology, a leading international academic journal.


Due to the impact of the epidemic, the 2022 International Quantum Conference is conducted in a combination of online and offline, inbound and outbound interaction. The conference brings together renowned scholars and groundbreaking research results from around the world, focusing on core quantum research themes and building an academic sharing platform for global research talents in related fields.
